CREATIVE DIRECTOR-DIRECTOR-CHOREOGRAPHER

Described as a creative force, Shannon Lewis is passionate about her unique vision of storytelling through the collaborative process of theatre, television and film.

Shannon is the Choreographer of the acclaimed new Broadway musical JUST IN TIME. Starring Jonathan Groff, directed by Alex Timbers, now open at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Check it out HERE

Conceiving, creating and executing as a producer, director and choreographer, Shannon brings a dynamic and innovative point of view to her work. Her expertise in all levels of content ranges from small, focused solo scenes to original live theatrical events, to complex network television production numbers.

As a choreographer, Shannon has extensive experience creating for film and television as the choreographer of Saturday Night Live’s Film Unit, creating dances and movement for viral videos such as “I’m Just Pete”,“Gladiator Twosical”, “Shrimp Tower”, ”Big Boys” and many more. She has also choreographed multiple pre-taped and live projects for NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon and HBO's “Last Week Tonight” with John Oliver. 

Shannon was Creative Director and Choreographer of the NBC/Universal Upfront at Radio City Music Hall. 

She has also created, directed and choreographed many theatrical and dance projects at respected venues as Carnegie Hall, Ballet Jazz Montreal, Roundabout Theatre Company, Signature Theatre NYC, Town Hall, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Alvin Ailey Citicorp Theatre, Dreamworks, CLI, Dance Out Loud, NY Times Center, Bay Street Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse and The York Theatre Company.

Shannon is the founder of FIRESTART Creative; producing and developing impactful, creative projects for film, theatre, television and live events. Her original dance short “Don’t Go” was nominated for a 2023 World Choreography Award.

As a performer, she appeared in 10 Broadway musicals over a 25 year career, and is internationally known for her performance of “I Gotcha” in the Tony Award winning original Broadway cast of FOSSE.

Born in Toronto, now a dual citizen of the USA/Canada. Shannon is based in her beloved New York City.
